Event Cinema Distribution

Event Cinema Distribution – Sat/Sun 25th/26th Nov.

We had a busy weekend of event cinema broadcasts at the end of November, with two broadcasts of Sir Cliff Richard’s Blue Sapphire Tour, originally recorded at London’s Eventim Apollo, plus a live Q&A and film distribution for the charity screening of We Dare to Dream from Cineworld at London’s Leicester Square.

Sir Cliff Richard’s live performance had been pre-recorded the week previously and delivered to us as a hard copy which we played out from our Harlow MCR on Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon, and uplinked to satellite for cinemas across Europe to receive. We also provided a cinema helpdesk service on both days, which enabled cinemas to call in during the test and live transmissions in order to trouble shoot any local issues they were experiencing. In addition we downlinked the cinema transmission and delivered a live stream of this to our client to enable them to monitor the same feed that the cinemas were viewing. Everything went seamlessly, and with Sir Cliff marking 65 years in his career, we were pleased to be able to play a small part in bringing this special performance to his fans.

On the Sunday we delivered a live broadcast of We Dare to Dream from the Cineworld cinema in London’s Leicester Square which was delivered to cinemas across Europe. Because of the Christmas market taking place in Leicester Square at the time we were unable to park a satellite vehicle outside the cinema, so we provided streaming facilities and a temporary internet connection at Cineworld, and transmitted the live feed as an IP stream to our Harlow MCR. At our MCR we decoded and monitored the transmission and uplinked it to satellite, once again for cinemas across Europe to receive it, resulting in another successful event cinema distribution.
