We covered an important corporate event this week from Canary Wharf.

It was a bit of challenge due to the location and airspace frequency restrictions, but we managed to get around that using, fibre and point to point Link.

Links Broadcast visits Downton Abbey

Links Broadcast were delighted to be appointed as the OB and uplink provider for ITV’s This Morning when they visited the real life home of Downton Abbey at Highclere Castle.

The popular day-time program hosted by Philip Schofield & Holly Willoughby situated itself on location at Highclere in preparation for the UK release of the Downton Abbey full length feature film. The characters from the cast, including butler Mr Carson (James Edward Carter OBE), plus some of the regular contributors to the show, joined Philip & Holly on the sofa as well as in the library, saloon, dining room and on the north terrace for the closing sequence.

Plane Spotting Live

In July 2019 Links Broadcast provided production and uplink facilities to deliver the BBC’s production of Plane Spotting Live over 3 nights from airports around the UK.

Working with OB company CTV, we supported the hub location at East Midlands Airport through the provision of main and backup SNG uplink trucks, delivering live vision feeds to the BBC, as well as receiving two incoming vision feeds from remote airport locations. Across the three nights, Peter Snow, Andi Peters & Zoe Laughlin brought the excitement of live plane spotting together with input on aviation developments to enthusiasts in the UK and around the world.

SNG Satellite Uplink Broadcast For Boy Band

Links Broadcast SNG Satellite Uplink Trucks returned to the Principality Stadium, one of the most impressive icons of modern Wales, but this time, for a change, it was not for a rugby match.

2019 marks the 30th Anniversary of a very famous and very popular ‘boy’ band and, to celebrate this significant milestone, the band have embarked on a massive UK arena and stadium tour performing many of their much-loved hits. Did they play a million love songs? Did they relight the fire? They certainly let it shine down on Cardiff!!
